Conduct scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence with a particular focus on Public Health, e.g.:
• Independent work on exciting research projects at the interface of AI, digital epidemiology and public health:
o AI-based method development and application in climate and societal analytics at the ZKI-PH.
• Interdepartmental collaboration with colleagues at the Robert Koch Institute in order to combine and expand the expertise at the RKI in the research of diseases with the methods of artificial intelligence, e.g. through the
o comprehensive analysis of epidemics; further development of early warning systems; risk assessment of pathogens
o Causal analyses with regard to climate conditions
• Development of novel algorithms/methods, manage and integrate data and provide quality assurance for this work
• Potential supervision of junior researchers
