Aptus.AI and the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa are looking for candidates for a Ph.D. scholarship co-financed with investments provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The project title is “Development and analysis of methods and tools for natural language processing through Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques” and will be carried out under the supervision of prof. Davide Bacciu (http://pages.di.unipi.it/bacciu/).

The project focuses on developing and analyzing Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques methods to process natural language data. In fact, in this sector technology has made great strides in recent years, but in some sectors, its application is still limited for various reasons:

• scarcity of training data and models for some languages ​​and domains;
• the reliability and comprehensibility of the analyzes;
• the inability to process long and complex texts;
• the unavailability of documents in machine-readable formats.

The project focuses on analyzing methods and tools useful to mitigate the problems mentioned, which, to date, block the adoption of artificial intelligence tools in different operational contexts.
