About the Position
Roche's RiSE program is an incredible chance for postgraduate students to take their careers to the next level. You will join the Neuroscience and Rare Diseases Discovery and Translational Area (NRD DTA) and work in the Systems Neuroscience Section, where you will perform exploratory lab work and research on the hypothesis that thalamic hyperexcitability leads to sleep impairment and circuit endophenotypes observed in neurodevelopmental disorders. During the 9-month internship, you will be hosted and mentored by Roche scientists who will provide you with the work infrastructure and collaborative network necessary for your research.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the RiSE program, you must:
- Be enrolled in a PhD or medical degree program at a university
- Have a strong background in in-vivo electrophysiology or neuroimaging
- Hold a LTK-1, FELASA B, or similar accreditation (mandatory)
- Experience in opto- or chemogenetics and analysis of electrophysiological or neuroimaging data is strongly recommended
How to Apply
To apply, you must submit a CV, cover letter, and a letter of support from your academic supervisor. The internship can start between September 2022 and February 2023, so please clearly indicate your preferred starting date in your motivation letter. Non-EU/EFTA citizens must also provide a certificate from the university confirming that an industry internship is mandatory as part of their university training.
